I agree with being uncomfortable with placing my body in a casket in the ground. I have always been comfortable with cremation...but, I will think it through a bit now and get back with you. I know one thing for sure and that is that IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO BECOME YOUNG...and I will get a bit younger every day for many more years.

In my second half of life I am learning that overcoming attachment and letting go does not mean becoming cold and indifferent. I now believe that it means that I need to learn to relax myself in an attempt to control my mind by figuring out the real causes of happiness and fulfillment. I think that overcoming my need for attachment by letting go will enable me to enjoy life more.

I'm so glad you found your book! Great insights and challenges for growth. I think in the quest for becoming more authentic surpasses the striving for approval. Eckhart Tolle does a wonderful description of ego, which describes so well the difference between it and who we really are in our "essence."

I love your writing. You're on the journey with those of us who desire freedom and growth, health and enlightenment.

Hi, Edie,

I was blogging about one of them...The Second Half of Life; Opening the Eight Gates of Wisdom. At the moment, I can't find it in my messy office, but I was really enjoying it. It was easy to read, yet had great questions to consider and "exercises" to do as a way of assessing where you are at each gate. So good to hear from you!

Love to read whatever you write Karen! Always so heartfelt! As a wife who suddenly lost her husband to a heart attack, five years ago today, I cannot tell you how the words "make the most of this moment" need to be shouted from all rooftops whether in Japan or Cape Coral, Florida where I am.
Your strength never ceases to amaze me!
My love to you my dearest friend.
